Exercise and Movement For Better Health - Not Just For Weight Loss!

When it comes to exercise, some things are pretty simple. In order to be a healthy person, you've got to MOVE!
Regular movement is a necessity for health, just like good nutrition and a balanced mindset. A healthy body is naturally inclined to maintain an ideal body weight and composition.
Yes, there are definitely certain types of exercise and movement strategies that will help you burn fat and lose weight more effectively. Right now, I'm not talking about that! I'm talking about becoming a MOVER for life. This is how you become healthier for life. Once you're healthier, your body is healthier - and your outward appearance will support that fact! In other words, a healthy body looks better.

Every single day, make it a goal to move. Even if it's just a 5 minute walk or a couple minutes' worth of squats (knee bends), or jumping jacks, or stretching, or bending and twisting, or sitting on an exercise ball, or balancing on one foot, or jumping rope, or dancing, or pretty much ANY type of movement... just move!
Movement stimulates growth, repair, healing, immune function, learning, memory, and mood regulation, to name a few. We need movement in order to keep moving forward with our health.
Movement adds to our future health. Sitting on the couch subtracts from it. This is one the most critically important math equations you will ever learn!
Making this shift in your mindset regarding exercise is the first step to outrageous success in this area of your lifestyle. Your goal is to become a healthy person because THAT will ensure that you're a person with a healthy body. When we move only for a superficial outcome, like weight loss, our results will not be as sustainable.
Becoming healthy means that you will eventually (if not already) love to move because it feels good, and it's the fuel that your body craves!
Your movement doesn't need to 'look' a certain way - like a certain trainer says, or a particular celebrity who works out a certain way, or your neighbor who lost some weight, and so on. As a human being, your body appreciates ALL types of intentional movement stimulation.
Examples of areas of movement you can incorporate are: balance, proprioception, agility, flexibility, speed, power, strength, endurance, and so on. The possibilities for adding movement as fuel are virtually limitless! The more you move, and the more body parts you move, the better!
