Are You Eating These 3 Dynamite Foods to Gain Weight?

To most people the idea of gaining weight sounds crazy. With the percentage of obesity climbing sharply, the thought of somebody desperate to put on weight is not taken seriously. But a small portion of people are underweight and have struggled just as much as overweight people with their self-image and self-confidence. Being underweight portrays the image of being weak, helpless and unable to defend or protect yourself or loved ones. If you want to change this and gain weight fast, you have to take the proper steps to change your body in a healthy manner. This involve consistently eating 500 or more calories everyday on top of your normal calorie requirements, and consuming the right foods to gain weight.

First off, it's important to discuss the wrong foods to gain weight. A calorie consumed from a candy bar is no different to the body then a calorie consumed from an apple. The difference is what is the nutrients accompanying the calorie in the candy bar and the apple. A typical candy bar is loaded with sugar and saturated fat with poor levels of vitamins and minerals, while an apple contains fruit sugar with higher levels of vitamins (especially C) and dietary fiber. So the idea of eating large amounts of junk food to gain weight will help you with the amount of necessary calories you need, but the lack of important nutrients can lead to poor health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart disease.
So what are the proper foods to gain weight? Your goal is to consume nutrient dense foods with high calories for weight gain, high protein content to build muscle and packed with vitamins/minerals for improved cellular function. The following three items are super foods to gain weight on and showed be part of your daily weight gain diet.
Dynamite Food #1: Nuts/Seeds
Walnuts, almonds, cashews, pecans, brazilian, macadamia, pine, pistachio, sunflower and pumpkin seeds are loaded with healthy fats and protein. A three ounce portion of nuts contains around 500 to 600 calories, 50 to 60 grams of healthy fats and 10 to 15 grams of protein. Studies have further shown decreased heart disease in those who eat nuts regularly compared to those who don't. This makes them a perfect snack food to gain weight.
Dynamite Food #2: Milk
Most people believe milk is only good for developing strong bones with its excellent source of vitamin D and calcium, but it also is a great food to gain weight and build muscle. One cup of whole milk contains 146 calories, 8 grams of fat, 13 grams of carbohydrates and 8 grams of protein essential for building muscle with your weight gain. The ability to supplement your weight gain diet with liquid calories is also easier for some people to consume the necessary calories consistently everyday.
Dynamite Food #3: Peanut Butter
You may think peanuts should be included with the nuts, but they are actually legumes (beans). Two tablespoons of peanut butter contains about 200 calories and 7 grams of muscle-building protein. Peanut butter is also loaded with over 30 essential nutrients and phytonutrients, including the powerful antioxidant vitamin E, folate, niacin, magnesium, flavonoids and the amino acid arginine. Healthwise, it's best to eat all natural peanut butter (peanuts and salt) rather than processed peanut butter with added sugar and hydrogenated oils.
If you have an allergy or intolerance to any of the above mentioned foods, it is best to avoid eating them. Nuts, milk and peanut butter are quality foods to gain weight. Adding these foods to your weight gain diet everyday and consistently keeping your calories intake at 3000 plus calories per day is the main key to gaining weight fast.
