Take Care of Your Health and It Will Care for You

By Joanne Troppello

"Recognize that you are a product of nature and that your every existence depends upon other products of nature." Dr. Forrest C. Shaklee made this statement and his words are so true. I believe in Creationism, that God created us in His image. However, even if you didn't believe in God, it's not much of a stretch for you to believe that you are a "product of nature."
Since that is the case, how is it that we are so adverse to anything natural these days? In the last one hundred years, we have changed our outlook on how we eat. Instead of eating fresh from the farm food each day, we have traded in valuable nutrition for processed food. The main question is-do we realize how eating processed food is harmful to our bodies?
"Look to your health and if you have it, praise God and value it next to conscience; for health is a blessing money can't buy." Izaak Walton made this statement and I couldn't agree more. After all, our health is our life. If we don't have good health or are terminally ill, our future is bleak and we won't be alive for much longer. We are a spirit, we have a soul and we live in a body. Our bodies start to degenerate and age once we turn twenty years old. What do you think happens if you don't take care of your body by eating healthy foods, exercising and alleviating stress from your life?
If we don't take care of our bodies, our bodies won't take care of us. It's that simple. In a nutshell, we don't get enough necessary nutrients from our daily diets, even if we do eat healthy and organic foods each day. We also need to start exercising daily or at least three times a week. Even if we walk about an hour a day during our daily routines, that definitely will help us. We also need to do what is necessary to keep our stress levels at a minimum.
Jim Rohn has said, "Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live." No truer words have ever been spoken. Wayne Dyer has also said, "You can set yourself up to be sick, or you can choose to stay well." That's one of the main points! It's our choice if we want to be sick or stay well. True, things happen to our bodies which we don't have control over and some diseases are hereditary. However, science has taught us that prevention is the best medicine. If we make healthy choices today, those choices will positively impact our future. If we make negative choices, those choices will negatively impact our lives.
Eubie Blake has said, "If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself." What about you? Are you ready to take the steps towards optimal health with a natural health regimen? Starting a natural regimen is definitely the best way to stay at optimal health and wellness in your life.
