Water is the most essential and abundant substance in the body. The human body is made up of 75% water and the brain is 85% water. The human body can go over a month without food, but only a few short days without water.
How Do You Get Dehydrated?
· Through activities of daily living, sweating, exercise, diarrhea, the altitude and temperature.
· Many people treat dehydration with soda, starving the body of what it needs.
· The average American consumes over 600 cans of soda per year.
· Caffeine causes the kidneys to secrete more water from the body than there is water in the beverage.
